The Bureau of Temporal Bail & Bonds (BTBB)
AKA: The Bounce
Stack Coordinate: X: -3 | Y: +2 | Z: Flickering
Flavor Profile:
Tucked away in a dark alley between splintered timelines, the Bureau of Temporal Bail & Bonds is where the desperate, daring, and downright delusional come to get paid. From bounty hauls to bug hunts, spectral sweeps to food truck repossessions, if there's PCS to be made, The Bounce has the gig.
Officially sanctioned by something called “The Accord of Perpetual Sentence Suspension,” BTBB specializes in offering time-bound contracts to freelancers — but the job always comes with strings. Each bounty comes from a moment out of joint, pulled from the tangles of Convergence’s fractured timeline. That means every contract is temporally unstable — and so are the ‘lancers running them.
Vesca Thorn / [Redacted] / Warden
Vesca is the Bureau’s field agent handler who rarely blinks. And when she does, you probably wouldn’t know. But she knows when you're going to glitch before you do. She’s also rumored to be a failed clone of a judge from a now-erased Age.
R’Vok / Grivokai / Glint Magistrate
Age of Origin: Age of RuinSteel - a blood-filled Age ruled by artillery gods, living war machines, and beasts bred in reactors.
Grit: 250
Scarred from jaw to tail and built like a war machine, R’Vok doesn't care where or when you’re from—only if you can fight. The big bastard has little patience for pacifists and even less for paperwork.
He’s best known for the time he single-handedly held the breach at Section 413256, where the Kaijusaurus Rex—yes, that Kaijusaurus Rex—broke free from maximum security and rampaged across six timelines. R’Vok brought him down with a severed railgun, a handful of explosives, and a broken jaw he never bothered to set right.

The Glitch Cause
Every contractor signs the Glitch Clause. It's boilerplate:
"Should your temporal resonance waver, The Bounce reserves the right to replace you with a comparably skilled agent. Memory bleed, identity echo, or paradox residue may occur. By signing this document, you absolve BTBB of all causal or ethical responsibility."
In short: if your character “glitches” out (aka, your player can’t make game night), another contractor from another stack or Age gets pulled into their place — no questions asked, and sometimes mid-job. This allows for seamless character swaps, wild meta-plot twists, and memory-muddling lore moments. Some contractors even form rivalries or friendships with their replacements.
Roll a D6: On a 6, the glitchy replacement retains one memory from the last mission… even if they weren’t there.
BTBB Contractor Pre-Mission Questionnaire & Glitch Cause
Please answer truthfully. Or at least consistently across timelines.
